I'm a senior software engineer with ~19 years of professional experience, specialising in low-level systems programming, embedded, infrastructure, and performance-critical software.
I've worked across kernel-level, embedded, and application layers. I've done everything from small time application work to environments where problems are complex, failure is expensive, and correctness matters.

- Built and shipped a Rust-based OpenSSL engine for an HSM as a contractor for Microsoft
- Worked on a RISC-V MCU emulator
- Bootstrapped a Rust toolchain from mrustc in a production environment
- Developed tooling for container image ecosystems, including an image linter
- Background in hosting/infrastructure environments
- Mentored others in Rust
- Former director of a non-profit (team leadership, operations, decision-making)

- Languages: C, C++, Rust, Python, (plus working JavaScript)
- Systems: low-level development, kernel-adjacent work, embedded systems, Linux and POSIX systems
- Tooling: ASan, GCC analyser, Coverity, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Practises: TDD, custom test harnesses, strong debugging discipline
- Areas: concurrency/async systems, network servers, inter-language interop, cryptography, performance optimisation, debugging

What I'm looking for:
- Fully remote if possible
- Async-friendly teams (PDT-based)

- Compensation: $135k+ depending on scope
- Medium to long-term work preferred, but I'll take what I can get
- Preferably #NoAI but beggars can't be choosers
