The Project Manager will serve as a senior manager for the large-scale TRIA-FoR project, a national scale, multidisciplinary network of researchers that is led by the University of Alberta and Carleton University. The Project Manager is a focal point for the Project’s control and is an essential hinge between the scientific and administrative aspects of the Project. <bR/><bR/>Key responsibilities include:<bR/>• developing, coordinating, and executing operational plans based upon the overall strategic vision of the Project; conduct ongoing assessment of strategic plan<bR/>• together with a second Project Manager based at the University of Alberta, providing Project operational and financial leadership and management, including day-to-day administrative, financial, operational, coordination and communication operations<bR/>• taking responsibility for the financial well-being of the Project; directs financial management including the oversight and control of research project funds to ensure optimum use of financial resources<bR/>• leading preparation of scientific reports, financial reports and financial draw requests<bR/>• ensuring researcher and Project compliance with funders’ and institutional policies, guidelines and regulations<bR/>• primary lead on developing and executing the Project’s Communications Plan, including publishing the TRIA-FoR Newsletter, maintaining the TRIA-FoR Twitter and Slack accounts, maintaining/updating project documentation in the Carleton-located Citrix ShareFile account, working with University Communications staff to develop promotional stories<bR/>• identifying potential sources of additional co-funding; preparing applications to secure this co-funding<bR/>• organizing, coordinating, setting agendas and acting as moderator and secretary for all virtual and in-person internal Project meetings of various scopes, and virtual and in-person meetings of Project researchers with external stakeholders<bR/>• handling Human Resources responsibilities, including day to day administrative tasks, appointments, contracts, reappointments, onboarding and offboarding, hourly payroll timesheet submissions; providing guidance and counsel to researchers in their supervisory roles<bR/>• serving as a key liaison with academic, government, industry and not-for-profit partners and stakeholders<bR/>• acting as principal point of contact between the Project and funders<bR/>• acting as primary interface with the second Project Manager at co-lead institution (UAlberta)<bR/>• interfacing with fee-for-service providers<bR/>• seeking, building and maintaining relationships with researchers and their research teams; administration at Carleton University and partner universities; partner organizations; funders; and other stakeholder and end users<bR/>• acting as a moderator between parties in the event that issues arise between Project participants<bR/>• cultivating exceptional relations with all Project personnel<bR/>• contributing to preparation of scientific papers, extension notes, and other forms of written and oral communications intended for diffusion to scientific, stakeholder, end user, and lay public audiences
