As a reminder folks. In hot humid weather, mold will grow on baked goods incredibly fast. So if you have treats sitting on a counter and its hot and humid where you're at, best to get it in the fridge or freezer so mold doesn't eat it before you do!
Most baked items reheat well out of a fridge or freezer.

I'm so excited. One of the peony crowns I bought and planted last year has its first bloom. I don't think the other one will bloom this year, it was a smaller crown.
Have wanted to have peonies since I was a kid and saw the gorgeous peonies a neighbor had in their back yard. But this is the first time as an adult I've lived somewhere you can grow them.
Bud is from yesterday, open bloom this morning!
The mystery iris has opened! It appears to be a lovely light purple with tan highlights bearded iris.
Haven't been able to figure out what variety this is yet, if you're an iris expert, feel free to chime in!
Been messing around with my muffins recipe to come up with a vegan option on all my muffins on the website.
Am happy to say I've found one that I'm happy with. My goal is to eventually have a vegan option on all my bakery goods that aren't already inherently vegan. So basically I need to come up with alternate recipes for all my enriched dough items that use dairy and eggs.
For now, mission accomplished on the muffins.
Made one of my Cinnamon Snowflake (Star) breads for a doctor's office yesterday morning.
Now I think I want to make one for us! 😋 The trials of baking stuff for other ppl is it sometimes makes you want to make one for yourself too!

I don't do a whole lot of traditional sandwich loaves, but since I have a few jars of jam to use up I decided to give it a whirl on a loaf of wheat sandwich bread.
I adapted my German Bauernbrot recipe and put it in a loaf pan. Came out a little wonky but I think I know how to fix that with how I shaped it and one little temperature adjustment.
Great crumb and made excellent toast for the jam, so mission accomplished!
