this is somewhat of a cult LP from 1974 - No Other by #GeneClark https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Other. Gene was one of the principle songwriters in The Byrds and afterwards went on to release solo albums. The production and ambition of it are outstanding and it still sounds superb 52 years later. It baffles my mind that this album was only a commercial success in the Netherlands when it came out in ‘71.

Sure.
NOW it’s recognized as the stroke of genius that it is, but how could have people missed it back then?

More than anything else, White Light shows that Clark was the true heartbeat of The Byrds.
The lyrics are poetry, the music absolutely sublime. Incredible countrified melodies. Just amazing on all fronts.

Listen to his take on “Tears Of Rage” and tell me his isn’t the best version.
