...gewaltig bergab. Gerichtliche Durchgriffsrechte hat man über die #GDPDR / #DSGVO nicht mehr.
Das alleine schon wäre, bei aller technischen Innovation, für mich schon ein k.o.-Kriterium.

Und warum sollte ich das für eine weitere nicht-FOSS-Lösung risikieren?

Außer der etwas zu Trump-freundlichen Einstellung eines Verwaltungsratsmitglieds & dem nicht-FOSS-Ansatz sehe ich bislang beim schon ziemlich verbreiteten #Threema keine gravierenden Nachteile.

Ich war bislang auch eher gegen einen #DigitalenEuro.
Da man jedoch bargeldlose Zahlungen nicht vermeiden kann--und viele dies auch gar nicht wollen (-> #Convenience-Orientierung, Bsp. #Skandinavien mit extrem hohen Nutzerquoten) ist es definitiv besser, den #Datenschutz und die #Datensicherheit in der #EuropäischenUnion zu regeln, anstatt dies den großen #US-Multis zu überlassen, zumal diese im Zweifel meißt auch mit #US-Behörden kooperieren und nicht nur, ohne #GDPDR.

Opting out requires work.

Changing the fine print might not work either, as this constitutes a major change and could be considered an invalid surprise clause in many countries.

Erring on the wrong side of #GDPDR (#DSGVO) might prove costly when decided upon by the #CJEU some years in the future.

I'd say opting for #OptOut as an instance might be a considerable business risk.
