The #Gawler History wiki maintainers have a system of regularly depositing a hard drive of dumps and backups with the shire council. It's terrific to have backups residing with a different (trusted) organisation. The only part I wonder about is how disaster recovery can be best handled β the hard drive needs to contain instructions for getting #MediaWiki running again (or at least contact details of who to ask).

Mark PriorWhile out on a bike ride today I had the cross a stupidly narrow bridge over the North Para River in Gawler. Looks kinda idyllic except for the algal blooms in other parts of the river. Not sure if that is caused by agriculture in the Barossa Valley or the recent release of water from the South Para reservoir.
