The Canadian artist #taxali makes political statements. He fights for feminism and lgbtq, and against donald the way he can.

The last day of February I wanted to showcase how street art also is very much something temporarily. The information signs have been plastered on the art, and I hope no-one really minds that, not even the artist. A house always has many uses, like this. This house once had a use for sometrhing else, and now it is waiting for the cranes and people moving into modern flats.

March will be #architecturemonth. And the first photo will be a house just down this road, a house of a very famous Norwegian painter (and it is not Edvard Munch …).

Spring is here. Sigh.
(It reminds of a small poem by Piet Hein, paraphrasing: winter is here, I am tired. Spring is here, tired again.)

Put your sun glasses on! Or not ...

What a color dash this petrol station wall is! It's by Tito Ferrara, a Brazilian artist.

Tags are also street art. Not my kind, but they still are. And here they are perfect, I think, In a hidden corner (well, I suppose hidden corners are perfect for any kind of street art), and "nothing else can grow".

Only five days left of February, and there are still so much street art from Stavanger to show!

There is a lot of writing on the walls. Not sure about the background for this. Sometimes it seems like someone ordered it, sometimes it is so much darker. I hope the author still lives 😳

Not the regular street art, but street art none the less.

Palimpsest is not uncommon when it comes to street art. But usually not as layered as this one, Jaune on Stavanger’s shit wall.

This street art is painted on a wall by one of the main roads in Stavanger, and is in all respect a great art piece (and I am not only saying that as a nurse myself).
It was painted under the pandemic, and shows our then health minister holding up a nurse in full uniform, she looks like she works on the hospital (now moved) quite close to this mural. This health minister also comes from Stavanger. The artist himself just south of the town.
The artist, Pøbel, is one of the old street artists, and I have been admiring his work for 20 years, maybe longer.
Pøbel in Norwegian means exactly what it sounds like, pueblos, people. Us the filth. And we are proud of it.

I want to share another #jaune piece, maybe my favorite.
I know, his municipal men (mostly) are more of a surprise attack on our senses, not an economically statement. But he is making us, people down here, visible, showing us, presenting more than middle class tropes. And I like that.

On the other hand, it is a middle class streak to enjoy street art as much as I do, right?
