It was an anime series originally known as Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, but with the violence and language removed.
I remember watching this series in the afternoons after school.
Until now, I have completely forgotten about it, until I rediscovered it while researching another series.
Apparently you can watch today by subscribing to the Hidive service. Kind of wish I could buy my own digital copy.
