A Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus), or pimpelmees, moving through cherry blossom in Appeltern near Nijmegen. Captured with a Canon 5D Mark IV and 100–400mm—using reach and patience to isolate a fleeting moment. These small birds can process food remarkably fast, supporting high-energy lives.

Waggie came to the window today, there's a pair of Pied Wagtails that appear to return each year #birds #gardenbirds #birdphotography #naturephotography #wildlifephotography #scotland

It's been lovely and sunny today, and some great tits were hanging around just outside my window tweeting away most of the day.

#tuingelukjes #gardenbirds

Our cat has a hobby - watching the mice at the base of our bird feeder. She's got no interest in the birds, just the mouse family. Occasionally she'll bring one home to play with, until it dies (maybe of boredom or exhaustion?).

I've just moved the bird feeder because I've seen a mouse running up the feeder pole to get to the seed - and I consider that to be cheating.
It's going to confuse Kit the Cat but it can't be helped.

And when these seed feeders are empty I'm not refilling them in line with the RSPB advice, just the fat balls.

First doves I've seen in the yard, and it was a pair of Eurasian collared doves. Surprise! 📷🌿🪶
