8 days to Legends ZA now for the Kalos team of Y… anyways Gardevoir is a mega here because Greninja didn’t have one if it DID back THEN I would have made it the mega as a result Gardevoir was the dedicated mega of the team… which I also got the stone for in Omega Ruby first as I did by that point get a second 3DS (well NEW 2DS but still…)

anyways one thing I considered doing in ZA for my team was I’d choose chikorita in ZA and have Greninja be the Mega of that team to get justice for not having one in X and Y (as I always thought the Kalos starters would get a mega here even over ZA’s… and well supposing the starters all got ZA original forms I don’t feel like Meganium would get water or dark here… so there’d be NO type overlap on that end…)
But uh well… they certainly made a “decision” with the Kalos megas now I’m not even sure I’ll be able to get Greninjanite or whatever… *sigh*
Also Pokemon Y more like: Y did pokemon make such a dumb decision with the Kalos megas haha GOTTEM!!!

1 week until Legends ZA and what better way to mark the occasion then showing the last of the gen 6 teams with Omega Ruby… overall I’d say this team is about a 7.8/10 with perhaps a few too many Hs and a few too many Os as well… anyways this was originally my actual planned Hoenn team back in 2017 but before I could even get to Omega Ruby I tested my Emerald cartridge and it worked

and since I like Mudkip more than treeko and would rather have Mega Swapert than mega Sceptile I decided to keep this team locked and make a new Sceptile focused team for Emerald as a result this team has more hoenn favourites for me than Emerald… though really it’s just swampert, swellow and Hariyama as Magnezone and Froslass are Sinnoh… though froslass is probably one of my more favourite ghost and/or ice types TBH…

I’d choose a starter and then go from there while making sure to cover various weaknesses so for instance I’s have say all the fire pokemon competing with each other to see which one I liked more taking in dual types as well… though I do try to finalize it at around whatever I believe to be the halfway point just so I don’t have to keep switching between potential team members

Hold on is this not just your pearl team… yes it is but is that really any surprise on top of the four repeats from pearl the game is… literally the same as it was on the DS so even if I tried to make it different (say by using Torterra) I’d probably still at least pick Luxray and Staraptor again…

yeah not much different here… obviously couldn’t use Steelix cause I don’t have two switches nor 2 BDSP games so I needed a new ground type and chose Gastrodon cause why not as for the sixth it was a tough choice as I needed some psychic coverage and had to choose between Drapion and Bronzong (due to it at least resisting psychic where I could have Luxray use crunch…)

it was only tough because I don’t usually like having type overlap but decided it didn’t matter in the end as it’s not like fairy pokemon are prevalent to any large degree in this game… so the poison typing ended up as mostly irrelevant… and on top of which due to me using both quite a bit whilst trying to decide on who to make as the sixth team member I decided that whoever didn’t get used here would be used on a future team

1 day until Legends ZA so what better way to mark the occasion than to show my team for the previous Legends game Legends Arceus now once again there are some reused pokemon… HOWEVER especially for the starters I didn’t really have a choice there… as ALL three are Pokemon I used in a previous team in some way so I settled with Typhlosion due to it being my chosen pokemon for Johto…

I think if I ever were to do another playthrough of Arceus though I think I’ll probably use Samurott and have Infernape on the team as well… just cause… as for the others well it’s the standard need Pokemon to cover types and it kind of resulted in some more reused pokemon which is kind of due to just what was available (discounting fire and ghost pokemon) and also me already reusing pokemon in shining pearl already so having to mostly disregard that aspect…
like seriously I actually would have used Luxray here just as an answer to flying pokemon with the only other valid candidate being Raichu but I changed my mind to Glaceon due to not having a Pichu at that point and also to have more unique pokemon on the team (also realized at this point that I only have 4 Eeveelutions that I haven’t used yet being Vaporeon, Flareon, Sylveon and of course Glaceon

I figured that due to how you get Ice stones in Legends Arceus I figured I’d probably never get a better chance to use Glaceon so decided now was the time but yeah kind of weird how it ended up this way where I’ve used most of the Eeveelutions and how it was mostly unintentional… maybe one day I’ll use them all worth considering for ZA at least… since I don’t have even one member planned for the team cause of Mega Greninja and the shenanigans around that…)
It’s Legends ZA day and although I personally will not be getting Legends ZA until closer to the end of the year I still will mark the occasion with my final (for now) Pokemon teams with of course violet which I had managed to beat (DLC and all) at the end of last year… love how it took many years after I had initially planned on beating all the Pokémon games to the point where an entire generation of Pokemon passed…

I wasn’t really getting a lot of impressive options for water types and that was more needed on the team… also if I had a nickel for every time I had a fire ghost starter in a pokemon game I’d have 2 nickels… which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice and in a row like that… I may honestly consider choosing Tepig in ZA if it gets a mega or new form that’s fire/ghost at this point just for the memes…
