I realize I never took proper photos of the Ga H'mong. Honestly, those big black and curious eyes (camera makes the eyes look demonic 😅), makes them look so sweet and kind IRL; and they are very sweet and kind to go with it!
Definitely my favorite breed currently, maybe not the prettiest, but temperament, personality, and curiosity is miles ahead of any other breed we've tried, like silkies and paduan which is supposed to be like that but aren't.
Not the best photo but my paduan x ga h'mong cross turned out pitch black! and it looks like one of the so far two chicks have the paduan tuff! Very exciting! 😁
Optimal outcome would be the temperament, egg color and broodiness of the ga h'mong with the egg size and tuff of the paduan. The plan down the road, if this project succeeds, is to attempt to add Maran dark brown eggs gene onto my breed.

unfortunately the sibling of the two #gahmong died the day after #hatchday. so the remaining #chick has become a sort of indoor pet. always flying up to sit on my shoulder as i work around the house!
i'm becoming too attached, don't know if i'll be able to let it go outside with the rest of the #backyardchickens 😂
been collecting eggs since february due to the cold but built a quick nest and let her keep them over the past week now that it's less likely to drop below -20°, and today she's finally ready to get to work!
