@ineemio @alina #AGPLv3 and espechally #SSPL prevent anyone from actually using it in any useful way…

It solely exist as a legal landmine to monopolize #SaaS & #hosting in the naive assumption that #GAFAMs ain't gonna fork it.
- Might just use @creativecommons #CCBYNCND instead, cuz that would be more honest!

@Framasoft , par le biais de @pyg , nous a offert le 19 mars une tribune, initialement parue dans le journal l'Humanité, sur le mirage d'un numérique européen souverain pour contrer les GAFAM.

Quand le cœur du problème est le capitalisme (de surveillance), la seule réponse saine et durable est la reconnaissance des communs numériques.

I don't know if it's a #selfhosting #IT topic or a #psy #OCD #burnout topic.
I don't know if it's a call for help or if I just need to dump this here.

First, I'm very glad that I could totally leave the #GAFAMs! Yes, they make your digital life apparently easier, but the price to pay is IMHO far, far too high. I despise them!

My #selfhost setup is driving me nuts: #VPN, online services, I can't decide if I'm happy with my #Synology #NAS hosting (backed up on SYnology C2), if I need a #VPS (my attempts showed that maintenance is high) or an assisted hosting service (like #PikaPods which sounds great). Availability of online services would be higher.

Allowing "#AI" / #AIslop in their codebase / repo / contributions /...
A malicious "#CoC" that enables and shields abusers and harassers or the E.S. Raymond kind ("Right to be Rude")
Financed or supported by #GAFAMs / military/intelligence contractors.
Using #ClownFlare / #CloudFlare or other #RogueISP|s / value removing middlemen.
Being only source-available, open-core or otherwise doing #OpenWashing or #AssholeLicensing with ie. #SSPL!
Absurdly wasteful tech stack (i.e. only works on #Memenetes (#Kubernetes) or #WinShit (#Windows11)…
Extremely long list of issues with no activities.
- #StaleBot / #StarBit and other bullshit!
- #Paywalled access to code.

Green flags:

Operated and/or maintained by trans*, nonbinary and/or furries.
Clearly banning AI & AIslop if not outright sabotaging /tarpitting / hacking any AI bullshit.
#Accessibility and #FrugalComputing are part of the goals.
