Native Dialogs Irish

Learn a bit of Irish every day.

Native Dialogs
A message for all learners of Irish & minoritised languages.
I got my Upper Intermediate cert today.
When we learn our heritage language as adults, we have to earn every focal (word) and frása (phrase).
We have to push through imní (anxiety) even when it's míchompordach (uncomfortable).
Only through courage & mistakes do we learn.
Céim ar chéim (step by step) we slowly get there. When we do, tá sé tuillte againn (we have earned it).
Meas oraibh - respect to all learners ❤️

31 Mar 1604: John Franckton appointed King's Printer for #Ireland #otd (eebo) Here is his #Gaeilge #Irish Common Prayer Book - a really fine technical achievement
It's great to see positive attitudes to Irish in young adults reported recently, but if up to 45% report leaving English-medium education with little to no Irish, the revival can't reach its potential.
Meanwhile, Irish-medium schools are still less than 10% of schools.

Tá mé i ndiaidh an dara téarma mo chúrsa Gaeilge ar líne ag leibhéal A2 a chríochnú. Ní thig liom a rá gur bhain mé líofacht amach cheana féin. Mar sin féin, bhain mé iontach sult as. Bhí ár múinteoir den scoth, bhí an páirtí ranga an-deas. Anois, ar aghaidh go B1!
