"I Can't Dance" is the fourth track from English rock band #Genesis' 14th studio album, #WeCantDance (1991). It was released in December 1991 by #VirginRecords as the second single from the record. The lyrics were written by drummer #PhilCollins with music composed collectively by the band. The song peaked at number seven on both the US #Billboard Hot 100 and the #UKSinglesChart, and number three on the US #CashBox Top 100.

This is not a true “rarities” or compilation album.
It is essentially the From Genesis To Revelation album with a couple of early singles tacked on. It is the PRE-prog late-#60s Genesis, which I appreciate a great deal.

There’s two 1968 B-Sides here in “A Winter’s Tale” and “One Eyed Hound”, and two different versions of “Silent Sun”, which is odd, because there’s very little differences between the two versions. Maybe a slightly different mix and edit?

This is VERY different Genesis to both the weird proggy Gabriel lead band AND what came after from the three piece.

This is more of a soft #psychedelic /baroque pop outfit here. More polished, produced and arranged verse/chorus songs with string arrangements. No extended structures, nothing theatrical.
I appreciate this version of the band greatly.

Finally got to Genesis in my discography project.

What a weird and wonderful treat. First four albums completed, and this could go anywhere from here. While I did recognise a few tracks, I really never listened to anything prior to their 1983 release before.

This early 1970's sound sure brings back memories tho. Fun!
