Baby Food Fuss
(Story cowritten by Loupy and me)
Puppy, Yookey's older sister, couldn't stop giggling at the chaos before her. "You're doing great, Sis!"
A local baby food company had heard of Yookey's daycare and offered some free food and sponsoring. In return the day care would provide them with videos of the cubs enjoying their meals for use in commercials. The red panda had been excited at the idea, and even got the company to allow the videos on the daycares successful FurTube channel, which was what had got the company's attention. After getting the parents consent everything was ready to go.
Fiona, Loupy and Snow would be the cubs for the first video. That trio was a pawful at the best of times, so Yookey recruited her big sis to help with the recording. She needed to have someone work the camera while she fed the cubs. Puppy was not much for babysitting, but the idea of recording her sister dealing with their cute hi-jinks was quite appealing.
The plan was simple: spoon feed the cuties from some of the jars to show off the labels, and have them say how good the food was. Then follow that up by recording the little ones feeding themselves - sure half would end of their faces, but it wouldn't be that much messier than usual. Fiona being the cutest, would be the first one in the highchair.
As Yookey was setting up the highchair and supplies, Puppy was wrangling the cubs to get them ready. However, the troublemaker auntie couldn't resist getting up to her usual shenanigans, and the busy red panda offered her the perfect opportunity. Yookey had set aside all the jars of beet and cauliflower baby food, knowing none of the three cubs would eat those without a huge fight. But Puppy switched the strawberry-rhubarb jars for beet ones and the mushed chicken jars with cauliflower ones. Betting her sister would be too distracted to notice, she handed them to the red panda.
It didn't take long for everything to explode. Secured in the highchair Fiona had no way to avoid the spoon of mush. Her face twisted into an expression of disgust at the first mouthful and she launched into a tantrum - not exactly the reaction the company would want to communicate. Loupy and Snow were also kept close by, the wolf pup by their toddler harnesses ... but soon that turned into mayhem too. Fiona's tantrum knocked several jars over, and their contents dripped over the puppy. Meanwhile the bear saw what the red panda had missed. At the sight of the beets and cauliflowers on the jars he tried to flee, and ran straight into Yookey's legs knocking them off balance.
Puppy's trick had worked almost too well. This would definitely be a video that would go viral.
