Streaming has been really good for me feeling better about my voice. I've actually had a lot of stuff that being a furry or streaming has helped me with
For example. I used to want to be really tall when I was a kid. That wasn't going to happen, but I was never happy with my height. Being a mouse furry and making my 'sona a foot shorter than me? It helped me come to terms with that better
For my voice, I never liked how it wasn't deeper and how sometimes my words get slurred together. I also thought I sounded weird. Combine that with always getting called ma'am when I get takeout
But streaming has been good for me. People tell me that not only do they like my voice but that it fits my 'sona extremely well. Streaming so much and listening back has gotten me used to the sound of my own voice, something I never thought would happen. Plus, the ma'am thing doesn't bother me at all anymore. I like it and find it fun.
There are also many other things that being involved in the furry community has helped me greatly with such as, dealing with depression, understanding myself and my preferences more, improving my art, sharing my humor, involving myself with other artists, freelancing, etc.
It's been a rollercoaster of a ride but one that I'm happy that I've been a part of. Being a furry, enjoying it, accepting it, and growing and learning really does feel like coming home
