Reminiscing with this gorgeous cluster of deep orange Favolaschia claudopus (Orange Porecap Fungus) fruiting bodies on a decaying Beech trunk. I took this on my local patch at Denny Wood, New Forest, UK in Autumn 2024. A subtropical species marching eastward across Britain's warmer southern counties. An indicator of environmental changes afoot.

Backyard find, false turkey tails (Stereum ostrea?) growing on chestnut tree trimmings. The description says they are hairy, which you can see, but the gray green part looks almost felted.
A friend on Bluesky mentioned these have been classified as S. fasciatum, and apparently S. ostrea only grows in Indonesia, thanks to DNA sequencing
