Here's why Ticketmaster can suck my fat one.

I'm a human and I want to see Tame Impala. They are coming to the arena in my town.

I signed up for the artist presale and got the code. Artist presale was yesterday at noon. I was on the page as the clock struck 12 pm but it hung up and I had to refresh the page, enter my 2FA code to get in the queue.

My place in the queue? 140,000....😐
(Venue only fits ~20,000)

By the time I got in, 0 tickets left.

Tame Impala set it where tickets cannot be more than face value *on Ticketmaster's reseller page*, but I checked StubHub and sure enough there were tickets available in every section ranging $250-$500.

So today is the Venue Presale. I got my new code for this last night. Again I was ready to go at 12 pm. This time I refreshed the page on purpose to avoid any delay and did the 2FA as fast as possible. Got in the queue and I'm number 79,000......😡

Ticketmaster are villains. Sent us the wrong kick-off time in an email and also wrong on the electronic ticket. Missed the start of the match.

Anyway here's the grandstand view in Match 3. Reckon attendance figures will be between those of the other two Perth games.

Because I live in The Land That Time Forgot, I haven't seen a concert performance of a band I have actually wanted to see in an entire decade. I would have to drive hours away in order to even have a chance, I don't have a car, and I can't afford the insane prices, anyway. And #FuckTicketMaster #FuckLiveNation #FuckStubHub

I could theoretically take #Amtrak to NYC or Philly, but then I'd need a place to stay for several days in order to make the train schedules, not to mention taking off work.

“Welcome to Wrexham” suckered me in. I became a fan. I follow every game, I pay to get the TV streams of their games.

I was WILDLY looking forward to buying air travel, staying in a hotel, and seeing them play in San Diego. But due to the fact that Ticketmaster does not actually sell to the public, and scalpers get all the tickets (which were obscenely expensive to begin with) to balloon to over $1000 each for lower bowl.

I guess I’m just cheap. I know I’m old. Someone is obviously paying it. But that someone is not me. There are very, very few things that I would pay multiple thousands of dollars for a 90 minute experience. Even the UK press is describing the prices as “eye-watering”, “utterly insane”, and “scandalous.”
