Sounds like there's a chance to get a definition of end to end encryption back into the bill regulating mass surveillance devices in Oregon. A definition that would force companies like Flock and Axon to keep the data they collect in Oregon encrypted on their systems - making it harder to profit off it by sneaking in backdoor access or using it to train AI.

Relatedly, I’m glad that the Flock brand is quickly becoming radioactive in the public mind, so much so that Amazon wants to dissociate their Ring brand from it (even though Ring is still used by police for surveillance without Flock). This is a good development. Keep complaining about Flock ALPRs and tell your local legislators/executives to get those systems off your streets.
