Smreczyński Pond is a post-glacial moraine lake at 1226 m. This view shows the Ornak massif, where spruce forests undergo natural decay due to bark beetle and "halny" winds. The frozen surface sits in a depression formed by a retreating glacier. A raw, high-altitude ecosystem.
