This is a parable for red America everywhere. Small and medium-sized towns in places that don't attract a lot of educated, cultured people find themselves dying as longtime residents age and young folks move away.

Immigrants often move to such communities for understandable reasons: there are gaps to fill, businesses to run, jobs to take.
