Just got out of 'D'things n such'. A comedy sketch show featuring five young brown men (4 on stage and 1 on keys. On stage.) Hilarious and a very good time.

Listicle (1/2): best movies I've seen this year (2025), ranked (contains a few spoilers)

This year has been a lot (and so was every single year since 2020). I was raised atheist, but man, something must be up with the stars! It hasn't been all bad though. One of my highlights is having enough time to watch and enjoy plenty of #movies.

1. #Sinners (2025) - needs no introduction - epic storytelling and music! I don't usually rewatch movies, but I have watched Sinners 5 times already, and I am keen to keep rewatching!
2. #WildRobot (2024) - I concede, it's not the most logically consistent movies, but it succeeded Wall-E (don't come at me please!)
3. Celia (1989) - set in Australia, exploring how the country handled the Red Scare. I am recent migrant to Aus; while Aus is still part of the Western hegemony, media from the continent gets overlooked. The only movie I can recall (I've seen) as Australin is Crocodie Dundee lol. I did not anticipate the plot twist in this movie, and I doubt you will either.
4. The Little Sister (2025) - was screened during #FringeFestival (a #queer event in South Aus). The film is a #lesbian #coming-of-age story set in Paris following Fatima, a 17-year-old French-Algerian girl. Really handled the themes well, without resorting to inescapable tragedy.

The faces we make at our normal day at the office. We work like dogs all day long :) Some more pictures for King of the Jungle at Tallinn Fringe Festival.

Thank you Fringe Festival Tallinn for inviting us to perform our hit piece King of the Jungle! We had four unforgettable shows at Tallinn’s Town Hall Square – dancing through both sunshine and rain!
A huge thank you to Nordic Culture Point for making this journey possible and for supporting such a meaningful opportunity to connect and create across borders.

Sophia Saugstad on Instagram: "In the not-so-distant future, a woman struggles with infertility while the world around her seems to crumble. Meanwhile, a man can’t stop ordering packages to fill his empty apartment, two cockroaches meet up for happy hour, a bird tries to come to terms with being declared endangered, and a salesman gives the pitch of his life. “It’s Not the End of the World” is a new dark comedy piece using masks, puppetry, cardboard, music, spoken text, and captioning. Mixing child-like playfulness with moments of stark reality, it explores an uncertain future where people and animals must deal with the world passed down to them and prepare for what’s to come, finding hope and humour along the way. It asks, “In a rapidly changing world, what can we, and must we, hold onto?” My new piece “It’s Not the End of the World” will be premiering at The Vancouver Fringe Festival, September 4th-14th!! Stay posted for more updates!"

Time for a 3 good things update!

1. Riding a nice river of opportunities at work...
2. Daydreaming about pitching my novel series to Mira Nair to direct... (novel #3 is almost done!)
3. Wondering if I am brave enough to read my novels at the Fringe Festival in Vancouver... and yes, I could be.
