S1 of #mortel was a satisfying watch. The best thing about it for me was the (I thought) excellent writing and acting developing the relationship between the two main boys, Victor and Sofiane. A lot of other good things to say about it:

• Gorgeous #cinematography with a clear, relevant visual theme
• Surprising and (usually) kind twists and turns developing the initially unpleasant characters--very few or no actual villains, despite lots of actions hurting others
• Tangled webs of lies & conflicting motivations didn't seem contrived
• Tangled webs, jarring juxtapositions of action and experiences reflected in (IMO) very effective parallel film sequences
• Excellent musical choices

IMO the "teenagers" being clearly 20something actors wasn't difficult to swallow.
