up against pavement
road rashed knees
I was fleeing before I hit the ground

we were running
we were running

rush comes again
they can't move as fast as we can
but heavy is the air

the beast releases it's poison breath
as it's voice speaks above the crowd
the sultry night simmers
we hold for attack

stay together
stay tight
we remind ourselves

their toxic air, and shiny boots
their flash bangs, and untruths
seek to tear us apart

stay together
stay tight
we keep running

fires bloom
through the streets
destruction of their toys
until they stop their oppression

this is about abolition
we were running
we keep running
