Cut holes in the page, free machine stitched, kneaded and creased the paper until soft (momigami). After all of which i needed to reinforce the page, so added a layer behind of translucent painted tracing paper. #dailysketchbook #freemachinestitch #momigami

Layers and layers of sheer fabrics, with layers of stitch in between. Trying out to see how many I can build up on the page. I like the way transparent fabrics can be colour mixed like this.

This page started with a piece of indigo dyed fabric. It is actually a old wartime utility bandage, which dyes beautifully. Free machine stitch was inspired by the shibori made marks on the fabric. And my rather enthusiastic stitching created a few rips in the paper!
