At least three detainee #deaths have occurred since opening, including one being investigated as a #homicide, not suicide as gov initially said. In February, two dozen members of #Congress wrote a letter to #DHS, asking agency to shut the camp, citing fatalities, sewage problems, poor meals and a lack of detainee legal aid.

In April, ICE itself reported dozens of #violations of national standards at the facility, including instances of illness and improperly documented uses of force.
