My cousin and I planned to see the Wicked movie since last autumn, and finally went yesterday. Iโ€™ve never seen the musical, but Iโ€™ve read Wizard of Oz, seen the beloved film with Judy Garland and heard parts of the musical soundtrack for years. Now I just want to blast the movie soundtrack on a loop.

The film was amazing, and Wicked is now my current musical obsession. Here are my topmost thoughts:

๐ŸฉทThe storytelling is great. Love the twist on the original book by Frank L. Baum
๐Ÿ’šThe movie made me want to read the book the musical is based on
๐ŸฉทHad a hard time understanding Ariana Grandeโ€™s lyrics when she sung really high
๐Ÿ’šI am now a little in love with Fiyero
๐ŸฉทThere are a lot of great nods to both the original book and film
๐Ÿ’š Jonathan Baileyโ€™s performance was awing
๐Ÿฉท I just want to join in the discussion of all the literary critique towards Wizard of Oz (but Iโ€™m sure I wouldnโ€™t have anything new to add)
๐Ÿ’š Do I really have to wait until the end of the year to see part 2?

Have you seen the film?
