Das nenne ich einen Ablasshandel: Erst als Nachfolger für mein nicht mehr ganz zuverlässiges [1] Fairphone 3 ein neues Motorola Moto G34 [2] gekauft, dann aber noch ein gebrauchtes Fairphone 5 [3].

[1] Obwohl noch relativ neu, entlädt sich der zweite Akku innerhalb von zwei bis drei Stunden. Es war kürzlich mal Wasser im Handy, vielleicht liegt es daran.

[2] Da soll LineageOS drauf, und es soll so lange benutzt werden, wie es die Lebensdauer vom Akku hergibt. Vielleicht noch länger, wenn ein Akkutausch Sinn macht. Ist die Variante 8/128GB.

[3] Da soll postmarketOS drauf. Das ist für dieses Gerät noch nicht ausgereift. Als Hauptgerät kann ich es leider nicht verwenden, dafür brauche ich leider Android, und Zuverlässigkeit.

Jetzt habe ich mit meinem Fairphone 3 den zweiten Akku verbraucht, und inzwischen laggen manche Apps deutlich. Es wird wohl Zeit für ein anderes Handy ... Ein gebrauchtes Fairphone 5 soll es werden, auch wegen der Aussicht, dass postmarketOS darauf läuft.

Wobei ich, sollte ich auf postmarketOS umsteigen, doch noch was mit Android drauf brauche für 2FA Banking Apps & Co.

I must admit that I'm fairly disappointed with #Fairphone for retiring the #Fairphone3 in summer after <7 years: no more software updates and no spare parts.

While unofficial operating systems (with continued updates) like /e/OS and iodéOS remain available for the #FP3, repairing its hardware will no longer be possible. This is especially frustrating for those who bought the FP3 later than 2019.

And the 50€ discount they offered is only valid for buying a new FP6 but not for FP3 spare parts. 🤡

Ah, ça y est, #Fairphone a annoncé la fin officielle du support du #Fairphone3. Ça comprend l'arrêt de la vente des pièces. Il n'y aura plus de mises à jour du logiciel, il faut donc changer d'OS pour rester en sécurité. LineageOS propose Android 15, avec encore des mises à jour de sécurité. /e/os est encore sous Android 13 pour le #FP3, donc sans mises à jour de sécurité aujourd'hui.

Dans tous les cas, ça ne comprend pas les màjs de sécurité des différents firmwares :/
