I used to love Foyles, back in the 80s. Their filing system was famously chaotic but the wonderful staff could always find a particular book, somehow.
A major competitor expanded and Dillons was a stunning and huge book store, just around the corner. It was a delightful place to shop for books. When they launched they put a bus-stop ad right outside Foyles which read, "Foyled again? Try Dillons."
Somewhere I have one of their plastic shopping bags with that exact phrase.
Dillons changed hands several times and was eventually folded into Waterstones.
Enjoy the magic of Foyles!
