#Translink has launched the ‘Better on Board’ public #transport charter in #Derry ~ #Londonderry, promoting sustainable travel to reduce emissions, ease congestion, and improve air quality. Since the introduction of the zero-emission #Foyle #Metro service in September 2023, over 3 million passenger journeys have been made, saving more than 2,000 tonnes of CO2. The charter, backed by over 20 initial partners, including businesses, organisations, and local stakeholders, encourages greater use of public transport for the region's social, economic, and environmental benefit. Translink aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve a zero-emission fleet across Northern #Ireland by 2040.
