ToroidalCoreIn a couple weeks I'll be going back to the nature center again to see these and the other critters. In the mean time here are some pics from last spring.
Solar work finished, but I also got to peek in on foxes today.
ToroidalCoreFor the foxes, their boxes had some meat and fish, along with dead mice and a carrot. They love everything, although the only took a couple bites of the carrot. They normally do eat some vegetation. In the past we've given them eggs as well, and they also get a little dog kibble on occasion.
ToroidalCoreSome fox pics from today. They got fed, so they were pretty excited. The gray foxes are still kind of shy around staff members who go in, but after some pieces of food were left around they went and darted around. The arctics didn't care and just swamped the staff member who went in to feed them.

The foxes are also blowing their coats. They look black/gray in the summer, and appear quite smaller. They do adapt to the warm weather alright.
Here are some #fox pics. They were a little more active today although they were curled up when I first came to see them.
The arctics were on their swings, and they had a little scuffle over an apple that fell into their enclosure, but nothing too bad.
The gray foxes are a little more social, and came right up to the fence.
