This entire block is unrecognizable today. All of the buildings in the first block are gone, including the magnificent RKO Albee theater, demolished in 1977 to make way for the Westin Hotel (its façade lives on at the convention center a few blocks away). The park itself has moved to the left side of the street - no longer an island in the middle of 5th.
