Opus 88 have released 2 new pens based on the 2025 Pantone colour "Mocha Mousse". The Demo model I can completely see as being based on it, but I don't see the connection on the Harmony model whatsoever. That being said, I *REALLY* like the Harmony version. It's such a pretty colour!

I'm also going to be honest here, I find that saying a pen is a little, "toothy", or gives "feedback", is sometimes an honest appreciation for the feel of a pen. But other times, it's just code for "my nib is scratchy but I spent a lot of money for this pen and I don't want to say that it kinda' sucks."
There is a difference between "feedback", and just plain old scratchy. But it's more narrow than a Japanese EF nib.
The ability to write slowly is becoming one of the litmus tests I use with all of my pens, but especially my fountain pens. Because if the nib is scratchy, or even just a little too "toothy" as they say, writing slowly becomes very difficult.
Interestingly, how much the pen costs or what the nib is made of seems to have no baring at al on this. Some of my best writers were dirt cheap. Some of my most expensive suck at slow writing because they're too "toothy".

They say fountain pens are addictive, but I'm not so sure. I got my first fountain pen in 2007, and after 18 years I'm up to 10, most in regular use.
But no one warned me about dip pens! I got my first nibs and holder a month ago today, and already I have 3 holders (one of which fits 0 nibs in my possession) and 144 nibs! One hundred and forty-four!! In a month!!!
Which is quite appropriate in a way, as nibs for dip pens in their heyday were sold in 1 gross boxes (1 gross=144), and most of my nibs were made in the days when they were widely used.
Still, I think that's enough to be going on with.

I would give that friend a Platinum Preppy. Since I don't have one, I will buy one.
Reason 1 - ease of use for the beginner - pop in cartridge and off you go
Reason 2 - Inexpensive, nut excellent quality. No need to worry if lost or damaged
Reason 3 - When that friends becomes more comfortable with using a fountain pen - upgrade to a converter and fill from the bottle
Reason 4 - Step even further and eyedropper it for larger ink capacity
