A World War II hand grenade. Literally.

My grandfather brought it home from the war and didn’t tell us he had it. He died and after my grandmother died a few years later, we were going through their belongings and came across the grenade.

Mom called the police and next thing we know, there are tons of emergency vehicles, the bomb squad, the local news, and half the neighborhood in front of our house. Never did find out if it was live.
