A male American Redstart (Setophaga ruticilla), a small wood-warbler recognized by its striking coal-black plumage with vivid orange patches on its wings, tail, and breast. He had stunned himself by flying into our window, despite the window clings we have to prevent this. Taken June 12, 2016, in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
