I've been exploring #guix too, both as a user and by trying to update the #rakulang packages. It's a fascinating distro, but certainly has a learning curve.

@andrasbacsai @nova I've been having the same thoughts, I've been following nova's twitch stream and think it's really cool seeing the BTS of the instance, also seen loads of toots about how awesome the crowd is over on #hachyderm but the community here on #fosstoden is really awesome too! I don't have the energy to manage two accounts so just trying to follow awesome people on both, #FediverseFTW

@sadneurons @kev I've just become a Patreon of #fosstoden to support the work of this site and the team running it, as I do for the #OpenDocumentFoundation & #MozillaFoundation.

Hopefully more members will contribute financially - those who are able - to keep it alive and kicking for many years to come. I very much hope we can keep it free of advertising or corporate takeover!

Not sure about this Mastodon app though. Seems to lack some important features: bookmarks & list creation for one.

I'm a programmer, and writer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In an Orwellian sense, I'm also a thought criminal.

I mostly program in Python and TypeScript but recently enjoying Rust a lot. Good coding aesthetics always impress me.

Reading is my default mode of existence.

@seanlawson @robertwgehl I was delighted my application to join #fosstoden was processed within two hours. Knowing a volunteer #moderator must be trying to handle thousands such requests I thought it might be days.
Kudos to the team!
I posted on Twitter it had been quick and the response was 'there's the problem with #mastodon - two hours!'
