#GM & #Hyundai Disappoint

GM and Hyundai announced today that they are partnering to co-develop five #vehicle models. In total, the #companies plan to produce and sell 800,000 units of these models per year. The problem is that these four models won’t be electric. They will be fully #fossilfueled, #combustionengine vehicles or will use #hybrid propulsion systems.

We live in a #FossilFueled #austerity now.

"Currently 7 million people die prematurely EACH YEAR from #AirPollution, more than the death toll during the entire #pandemic.

Lung #cancer and #respiratory-related deaths linked to air pollution are up 160% over the past 30 years and it causes genetic mutations in some lung cancer-linked genes."

We will stop paying this price as soon as we give #FossilFuels the boot: let's do it!

280 from San Bruno to Cupertino is exclusive, wealthy, devoid of black and indigenous residents, and where the earliest species on the #EndangeredSpecies List, the checkerspot #butterfly, was extirpated by the nitrogen deposition from #fossilfueled cars on serpentine soils, causing invasive grasses to blot out the sun for the caterpillars host plant. Today to protect the wealth CalFire has destroyed #habitat in this stretch for 100s of #rareplants and species including the western blue bird.
