I’ve never been brave enough to just open the door of an old out-building here, where there are some old tarps, etc. — until today, saying out loud as I did, I’m coming in!
And to my surprise I found these 3 baby raccoons! 🥰
Thankfully their mom was away, as she would have had something to say about my intrusion.
Hopefully she won’t feel the need to move them, when she gets back.
It’s been many — many years since I could make myself some toast, here…

For example, I know to watch for #ticks - especially on things I’ve recently touched or been near.
This is how many (9) I found, since yesterday, hanging on my door knob, door frame, pail handles & plant pot edges. 🥴
Thankfully none were the black-legged variety, which cause #limedisease …

The spring and autumn seasons are the coldest in the house, as I don't always keep the woodstove going.
Cooler temperatures seem to aggravate the feline hyperesthesia Ember lives with, so a sunny window is always a good place to spend an afternoon.
To help with that, I've begun putting a hot water bottle, within a folded pillowcase, for her to lie on - which she gets quite excited about. 🥰
The #Maritimes is going through a stretch of weather, that’s perfect for maple syrup 🍁 producers. 🤤👏
Daytime temps above freezing - teasing us that spring is on the way…falling back below freezing 🥶 at night, to remind us it’s still winter!
