Today we went to Titters Hill near Thornbury, which is one of several planting sites for the New Western Forest, which is planned to create a wildlife corridor around Bristol and Bath connecting the Forest of Dean down to the Mendips.
The central aim for this new broadleaf plantation is carbon sequestration. Good to witness nature restoration efforts such as this first hand, but it’s also bizarre the amount of hope and optimism society is placing in these modest saplings.
