Made some chickweed and wood sorrel pesto! Freshly picked right from our yard!!! Cant wait to make this our regular, i also pick some dandelions for salad and young broad leaf plantain leaves to dry for later use.
So excited to use it for supper with spaghetti and garlic bread this evening!

Recipe:
Cup of fresh chickweed
Two springs of wood sorrel
Table spoon of basil
Two table spoons of garlic
Pinch of salt
Equal parts olive oil to green ingredients

There Is much more variety of “weeds” plants and herbs to try growing in my yard. Wish me luck! And if you can try some foraging this summer!

Increasingly becoming one of my favorite things to forage: curly dock seeds (Rumex crispus). Removing the chaff and prepping them for sprouting is a bit painstaking and tedious, but they’re incredibly delicious, and the effort is very rewarding.
