The first picture is the first thing I ate in Kyoto. I was starving after traveling all day from Osaka and walking around to get checked into the hostel. Wow! It was so good. While waiting, I remember someone next to me loudly exclaiming how good it was and I was hangry, so I was thinking "OMG shut up!" But he was right, it was so good. I don't remember too well, but I think it is a place that people travel to Japan to eat at. I was lucky to get seated right away. I tried to go back on other days, but they were either already sold out of closed because it was almost New Years.

Random ramen bowl from a shop where you sit in a cubicle and they serve it through a sliding panel. It was cheap a tasted pretty good. I went here a few times.

One of my favorite things was this octopus/squid. I am not really sure which it was, but the head was a quail egg. It tasted so good. I was a little nervous to try it at first, but I decided that it couldn't be too bad.

There was this place making a fish shaped bread with some kind of spread. It was red bean paste. I walked away at first not knowing what it was, but after seeing so many people, I decided to go back. I still randomly think about this many years later. It was so good. If I ever go back, this will be one of the first things I look for.

Lastly, there was a street food/restaurant making these wraps. I stumbled across this place while walking around at night. They were not as good as they looked, but they were still really good.

At #NobuManila: At the onset, the cold seafood dishes were a delight: I immediately went for the raw oysters (with a squeeze of lemon on each piece), and steamed shrimps, dipped in the restaurant’s own vinegar concoction—yuzu kosho sinamak—which provided a zesty lift. #SomethingLikeLife #foodtrip #japanesefood #JapaneseFusion #travel #tourism #Philippines
