‘Figurehead’

Like the prow of a ship… this is Figurehead… a limited edition print and the first one as we move to the forest wall of my Untamed exhibition @wildernessgallery.

The beautiful curve and patterning of this tree caught my eye. It looked ready to set sail down the waters of the river. The richness of the moss and loamy dark soil spoke of velvet luxury and an exotic journey to an enchanted land.

On a more serious note… My thoughts go out to everyone impacted by the fires, the wildlife and for everyone. Hopefully moving into the rainforest wall will symbolically cool things down somehow… 💦

Bunny!

In our backyard, bunnies show up to eat all the time. Our friend here was hiding under our side hedge. I managed to get pretty close (as I was shooting with a prime lens) before she hopped away.

The great thing about bunnies is that they will freeze, which makes taking their portrait so much easier! 🤣

It's mid-October, and the forest is transforming. Most trees are still green, but this cluster has embraced autumn. I found them outside of town on the hiking trail north. I'm glad I went exploring.

Foggy Late Summer Morning.

Mid-September and the early morning fog lay heavy on the pond. It was super quiet as no one else was out. Even the wildlife was silent.

Soon, all the trees will turn red, yellow, and orange. But for now, they are still holding onto their green garb.

Early migration!

Sometimes you get lucky! 🍀

I was out doing a pattern study when I heard a commotion overhead. I turned, flipped to a custom shooting mode, and held down the shutter button!

An enormous flock of birds flew right over the bridge I was standing on and across an early sunset. Rain was coming in from the west, making for a dramatic background.

It was hot, humid, and muggy, but I'm glad I went out anyway. You never know what you'll capture!
