Even on hot days it can still be chilly in the sea and this can cause cold water shock.

If possible head to a lifeguarded beach. If you get in trouble in the water #FloatToLive

Every day I'm on #Mastodon I like to jot down #3goodThings #threeGoodThings for #today... things done, things to do, or just a good thing ๐Ÿ™‚

1. A water safety #lifeboat talk given to prep/early primary school, a lot of fun to give.

2. If you fall into water by accident, float like a starfish. #floatToLive

3. Left over slow cooked pork, and new potatoes, yum.

If possible head to a lifeguarded beach.

Sea temperatures are still chilly at this time of year, which can cause cold water shock.

With the latest #SmallBoats tragedy in the Channel, I'm struggling a bit with #3goodthings, but here goes:

1. Spent most of the day at a local college telling the students about the Lifeboats and beach safety #respectTheWater #floatToLive

2. Excellent episode of #SavingLivesAtSea this evening, as it happens including an incident where 5 saved from a small boat.

3. #EarthDay, which I fear I didn't contribute too.

The @RNLI is ready to save lives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With courage, and determination, #RNLI volunteers provide this rescue service in the UK and Ireland.
๐Ÿ‘RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 144,000 lives since 1824.
