This is a great Dan Hicks video and my college roommate sent another. Double jeopardy may be coming our way.

Staff at a terrific radio station, WRSI with studios in Northampton, Massachusetts, picked Dan Hicks as their favorite act several years in a row. So, while I have heard them a lot on WRSI and elsewhere, this is the first time I have actually seen Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks. The experience is worth the wait.

I woke up thinking about Flip Wilson...Which lead to "Geraldine"....Yeah, I am old. Though I was a wee baby when he was at the height of his career. There were always reruns!! Yup, old enough to know what those were. He did a TV persona in drag...A black man dressed in drag and everyone loved him. Nowadays, he would likely be attacked from both the Left and the Right...but I will watch some clips and enjoy my childhood memories....

They have always been about the cruelty.

I'm old enough to remember this. It wasn't the only time they were in drag. I can still hear #BobHope's voice in my head, complaining about how his girdle is killing him, on one of his many TV shows.
