I can’t believe its not @twcauJust hit a new record for height detection, with my new ADS-B antenna in the last 24hrs... making detections between 59,000-60,000 ft!!
These two polar charts, seven days apart, show the difference a new ADS-B antenna can make.
The March 23rd image (left) is my old antenna; March 30th (right) is my new one.
The difference in performance couldn't be more stark:
- Position detections tripled;
- 288% increase in furthest detection range (approaching 150 nautical miles/278km);
- Hits up to 41,000ft.
Translates into big stats increase (+400 places on #FR24 stats table in 48hrs as one example).
Just got my new ADS-B antenna, which was a significant upgrade from my prior whip antenna.
Now supporting power to the antenna, 23.15dbi gain, and have window mounted for better line of sight to the Darling Scarp and beyond.
The horizontal detection radius has doubled to nearly 300km, and easily capturing anything 35,000ft and above.
Just need to put the bias tee in an ABS case now for a little protection.
