#flickboard is not developed using LLMs/"#ai". It doesn't have any "#ai" "features". It has been against the contribution guidelines for as long as there have been any.

But I'm also not really sure I can call it slop-free, because it's still running on Android, and it still depends on a whole bunch of Google libraries. And I'm under no illusion that /those/ aren't tainted at this point.

It'd be a weird to draw a line calling slop libraries okay. They are still run with the same privileges, and are still harmful in the same way. But it's also hard to avoid while running on the platform at all. And it's not like I can just reinvent it all on my own.

I don't know. I wish there was a serious alternative out there. :/

@johl ja das stimmt. aber setxkbmap kann den emacs-betrieb zum absoluten alptraum werden lassen. ich mach das lieber nicht. mein plan: beim nächsten rechner neo2 gleich von anfang an. Klar, 3 monate muskelgedächnis trainieren. Aber dann ist das durch. Wenn du android nutzt ist #flickboard auf fdroid wirklich cool. da habe ich (fast) alles inklusive ctr, alt und tab. Aber ist eben alles nicht mehr "out of the box".

Besoin d'un peu d'aide avec le clavier #Flickboard J'arrive à faire tout ce que je veux et, une fois qu'on a l'habitude, c'est très agréable. Seulement, pour faire les lettres avec tréma (ï ou ë notamment) je passe par des macros Zalgo. Je me dis qu'il doit y avoir moyen de les faire nativement (on peut bien faire ĕ par exemple…) mais je n'ai pas trouvé comment…

Just found out that #flickboard has the abilty to change capitalisation of the current word under the cursor by capitalising the shift buttons via a "returning" flick gesture to and from the edge; just like the capitalisation gesture for regular character edge flicks.

Oh and while typing this, I just found out it's possible to jump word-wise via the space bar fast action while shifted.

This thing is PACKED with features and smart interface design.

@amadeus I have used #florisboard before and really like it. I'm just experimenting with alternate layouts to see how it'll affect my typing speed and if I can build a muscle memory around the 6 fat keys to type without looking at the keyboard like touch typing. It's impossible with qwerty.

I really like the flickboard keyboard for android. It removes all privacy invading crap like predictions and creates a touch typing like experience.
