One of my buddies tipped me about a location where 5 #juvenile #kestrels were preparing to leave their nest box only a small detour from the polder I went to visit this morning. The fuzzy in-between.

One of four young Green Herons we saw at #LakeApopka. Feathered in a mix of downy fledgling and juvenile plumage, they were perched together in a #marsh shrub at the edge of the loop road. @CTGT got a couple great shots of several of them together that I’m sure he will post soon.

This cardinal fledgling it’s not picked the greatest place to land. But I scared it to a better spot than the bush It was originally in which was way too easily accessible by the outdoor cats that wander this area. (it fluttered from here to a Japanese maple tree nearby.)

Just like toddlers, fledglings can be so obnoxious, especially when they're hungry. Here, a Yellow-Headed Blackbird fledgling pesters its Dad to "Feed me! Feed me! FEED ME!!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣

The bluebirds' first brood did not appear at the feeders, so I assume it failed. However, the parents have been coming back and forth to the feeders lately, so I assumed there was a second brood.
