My advice to you is to never buy a flashlight (or #torch, if you prefer) that does not use a user-replaceable, common cell size, and ideally it should also be capable of taking a common primary cell as a backup, without carrying an adapter for it.
The 2nd biggest scam is expensive pocket knives.
Looking briefly at the latest "Jon Gadget" YouTube video on his favorite #EDC gear for the past 5 years, I'm reminded that the EDC industrial complex is mostly a #pacifier scam for insecure men.
The best EDC gear hasn't changed in a lot more than 5 yrs, with the possible exception of anything to do with #technologyโ#flashlights, #powerbanks, #smartphones, USB drives, etc.
For 20+ years, the core of my EDC has been: Victorinox Rambler, mini Bic, Fisher Bullet Space Pen, Storm whistle, Filofax.
It so happens these kinds of batteries are sought after by flashlight and e cig enthusiasts.
This might be pretty weird but I'm neither interested with flashlights or them cigs. I can see in the dark cos I'm a bear and I don't think vaping's gonna be a thing I'm gonna be interested in.
No shade to vapers but the smell's too fucking sweet and weird it makes me wanna throw up.

Speaking of #bicycle lights and #flashlights, I don't get why it is that lighting manufacturers can't understand that a bicycle #headlamp needs brightness buttons that go both UP and DOWN, in addition to replaceable batteries.
I shouldn't have to cycle through all brightness levels (usually including OFF) while riding at night, just to make my light go one level less bright.
Why is everything in this world now designed by people who obviously don't even use their own products??
