Chen et al. sequenced 6 quadriflagellate chloroplast genomes to clarify deep relationships in Chlamydomonadales. Results support Staurocarteria–Hafniomonas as earliest-diverging, and suggest Spermatozopsis belongs in Sphaeropleales.
