#Wordweavers Day 3 - Is your MC a good cook? Any special dishes?

Yeah, oddly enough...

Currently, the book opens with a brief cosmic birth "dream" sequence where Walen experiences a 3rd person reliving of a time he was naked in a lover's kitchen flipping omelettes for their post love snack.

IDK about Minerva, because I hadn't thought about it...
I'm going to guess she's a protein bars & hot pockets kinda gal TBH 🤣

For those who are just now finding me, I have published 7 novels in the past 3 years, including one under a pen name. This is the first and the perfect starting point for these interconnected books. It’s the Eighties and this intrepid band of musicians is trying to make their way in the often cutthroat world of Rock and Roll. #electricfame #rockandroll #firstnovel
The good news is that my debut novel is written, re-written (more often than I care to count) and ready to go. The bad news is: that was the easy part. Now comes the hard part - getting it published. #authorssupportingauthors #FirstNovel https://unexpectedangles.wordpress.com/2024/11/03/the-hard-part/
The Hard Part

– Getting a novel published, By Howard Aiken   AI rendering of my Spanish/Moorish hero Speaking purely from personal experience, the easy part is writing the novel.  The hard part (certai…

Sometimes magic happens. I just received word that a kick-ass agent with jewels for clients has agreed to represent my book, #HiramFalls

Hurdle one is cleared. Now for the second ...

Finding an agent seemed a dreary enterprise, and I feel blessed that my misery lasted but six weeks.

Spring in #Vermont: We got a dump of 14-16 inches of heavy wet snow, and were house bound April 4 & 5. When is spring coming?

But it was a great opportunity to finish making a final pass -- clean-up and tightening -- on #HiramFalls

I just sent out the finished manuscript to a potential agent who asked to see it.

Wish me luck!

I started to dig into my editor’s comments today. Have I mentioned that they used to edit for Penguin Random House and BBC’s Doctor Who? I’ll take their vote of confidence.

Thought I was just about done with the draft of my first novel. Opened it up today to go over the entire thing again, promising myself that I'd only make minor edits, if any. A promise broken as early as the prologue... 😅

Power, poses and conventions:

„no one liked it when Helen remarked that it seemed to her as wrong to keep sailors as to keep a Zoo, and that as for dying on a battle-field, surely it was time we ceased to praise courage — "or to write bad poetry about it," snarled Pepper.“
